INTRODUCTION TO CLOSED
SETS
"You know, there’s
something you oughta know about Starsky and me.
We’re not like most partners." (Pilot)
An open set
is what most of this compendium falls into. An open set is
a broader, open-ended group. It has information from more
than one episode. An example of an open set is "Big Starsky
smiles" or "Starsky and Hutch physical contact with
Huggy."
A
closed set is defined as a group of three or more things,
seen or heard, from the same episode. It has no further
additions. An example of a closed set is what Hutch tells
Laura Kanen he would be a sushi chef, a go-cart mechanic or
a ballerina if he stopped being a cop. (Deckwatch)
