Targets Oddities
• Targets 1 has what looks like the standard tag with
Starsky and Hutch throwing their badges into the ocean, but
then continues on one more scene. This next scene shows
them sitting at the coffee shop and having a car nearly run
them over. This second odd tag is a cliffhanger tag, ending
with the Torino’s back window being shot out, the camera
freezes and the narrator says “Next. Part Two. Targets.”
The words “To Be Continued” appear on the screen.
• Targets 2 has no tag at all. The episode ends abruptly
with Starsky and Hutch asking Dobey to expedite their
handgun paperwork. Dobey asks them what they are up to.
Hutch responds, “Stayin’ alive.” Then the credits start.
• Targets 3 has the mayor’s ceremony as the regular tag.
• One difference between UK and US versions is the US
version starts Targets 2 with a fairly lengthy wrap-up of
Targets 1, which ends with Starsky and Hutch throwing away
their badges. Targets 3 doesn’t have this preview.
